Youth Club’s tracks thus far like ‘People’ and ‘Misunderstand’ have proved that no-one can craft an indie-pop tune quite like they can. We spoke to Joe White (Youth Club’s Guitarist) in the run-up to the release of their new single and upcoming headline tour dates.
Your new track ‘The Man That I Am’ comes out on the 16th of February, what can we expect from the track?
Tropical, Funky, Dancey vibrations.
How did Youth Club get together?
We met in a queue for a gig (a bit tipsy and all talking about music), which sparked into a party, that then ended up in a studio session, that then ended up in becoming Youth Club.
You’re from Southend, how do you feel growing up there influenced you?
It helped that we had such amazing bands and artists breaking through, plus Southend had a massive indie & club scene so was always great to get out and watch amazing artists playing and DJ’s spinning sick tunes
Any other new artists you have played with and would recommend?
Courts, HAUS, High Tyde, Martin Luke Brown, Cameron Bloomfield, Lydia Kitto, Beach For Tiger…… We could go on for days, check our Playlists on Spotify always full of new bands, artists to check out!
And finally, what does the future hold for Youth Club
More music, more gigs, more fun.
While you patiently wait for the release of their new track ‘The Man That I Am’, check out their track ‘Misunderstood’!
