Hydrocele’s tunes are infectiously good and are only getting better. They’ve proclaimed themselves as “the hottest thing to come out of Surrey since Judi Dench” and surprisely that description sums them up remarkably well. We caught up with frontman Freddie Wortley to hear more about the band’s origins, influences and more.
‘Content with Concise’ is a superb tune. How did the track come about?
Thank You! Glad you like it. It started off with the guitar riff and we pieced it together as a band. Lyrically we wanted to reflect what most of our friends were going through at the time.
How did Hydrocele start out?
Hydrocele started out in the beginning of 2017; just a way that four friends can have a great time doing something they love and let you all in on it.
Have you got a dream venue that you inspire to play one day?
Our dream venue to play would have to be Wembley.
What bands do you find inspirational?
At the moment we’re inspired by Nothing But Thieves and The Strokes, love what they’re doing!
Say you’re stranded on a desert island and you have to pick three albums to listen to. What would they be?
On a desert island it’d have to be; Is This It – The Strokes, Blood Sugar Sex Magik – Red Hot Chili Peppers and Anti – Rihanna.
And finally, what does the rest of 2018 hold for you?
2018 holds more gigs than ever, new music and new videos!
