Friday is our favourite day of the week. The weekend is near but, more importantly, there’s new music to bless our ears. We’ve rounded up some of this week’s best new tracks alongside some older tracks that we haven’t been able to stop listening to.
Mercy Street – Banfi
We had the pleasure of interviewing the wonderful Banfi recently, which you can check out right here. This new track is a beautiful cover of music legend Peter Gabriel’s original track. It’s extremely atmospheric and adds a whole new layer to a much loved classic.
Moon Unit – Flyte
Flyte first caught our attention with energetic tracks such as ‘Light Me Up’ and ‘Please Eloise”. Last year saw the release of their highly anticipated debut album and a string of headline shows. ‘Moon Unit’ is a lyrically ambitious track that intrigues with its’ unique instrumentation.
Faster – Goldkey
Faster is triumph which effortlessly combines interesting sun-soaked production with captivating lyricism. Simple, yet remarkably effective, guitar strums guide the track and perfectly complement the track’s folk-influenced sound.
Young and Free – Dermot Kennedy
If you haven’t already heard of Dermot Kennedy, you’re seriously missing out. Like his previous tracks, Dermot Kennedy infuses his pain-soaked voice with his insanely introspective lyricism. This track is without a doubt his best work yet and combines hip-hop, folk and pop influences in a way that only Dermot Kennedy can.
